An expert in executive staffing, organisation development and talent management. Has lived and worked in the UK, Germany and France.

Education: BA in Business Studies from Bristol University and a qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD).

Gillian Derbyshire
Gillian Derbyshire

Experience: Was involved in research with a London publishing company focused on industrial relations and international law, before joining Search & Assessment Services in the mid-1980s. Since then, has worked with a number of specialist executive search companies with assignments in telecommunications, medical devices, life sciences, electronics, mining industry, FMCG and logistics throughout Europe and the Middle East. A strong team player with excellent client and candidate management skills.

Education: BA in English & Information Studies, Leeds Metropolitan University.

Experience: After university, spent the early part of her career in the music industry, before full involvement over the last decade in executive search. Operates as a senior generalist researcher across multiple sectors, countries, roles and market segments. Has had close links with the Miles Partnership and, more latterly, Tyzack Associates. Extensive experience on both executive and non-executive assignments in publicly listed as well as privately owned companies. An extremely versatile and committed search researcher.

Education: French and Russian European Studies at the University of Bath.

Has advised clients with a third party aggregate expenditure over €300 bn p.a., working with more than 2,000 practitioners, specialising in change management. Executive Chairman of Future Purchasing and a Practice Leader for Future Purchasing Leaders. Recipient of the CIPS Swinbank Award in 2006 for innovation in procurement.

Education: MA in Organisational Psychology from Cambridge University. Member, CIPD, CIPS and IoD.

Mark Webb
Mark Webb

Experience: 16 years’ procurement experience in line and consultancy roles up to director level. Last 5 years spent managing global initiatives in manufacturing, banking and telecomms sectors. Experience has ranged from accelerated savings delivery to change programmes impacting organisation structures, process design and skills capability. Working with Henley Management College on the link between procurement as a distinctive business competence, financial benefits delivery and shareholder value.

Education: BSc in Management Science and MSc in Business by Research from Aston University.

Experience: An executive development specialist with 10 years’ direct experience in procurement and supply strategy, building on his PhD, research roles in CIPS, Henley Business School at Reading, and leadership of IPSERA (International Purchasing & Supply Education & Research Association). Focuses on the links between competitive strategy and supply side initiatives. Works alongside procurement and supply chain leaders to challenge thinking and practice in both performance improvement and transformational change.

Bob Bannister

Experience: 17 years’ experience in procurement, leadership development and consulting. Combines specialist expertise in procurement, supplier management and outsourcing with business influencing and engagement skills gained in Philips, DuPont, Qualcast, Nokia and Diageo. Extensive work in Eastern Europe, Sweden and Finland. Within the last decade has concentrated on soft skills development, cross-cultural working and executive coaching in conjunction with his expert and accredited coaching network.

Education: MBA from Brighton University.

Experience: Over 10 years’ specialist experience focused on career management, recruitment, assessment and selection of high potential future leaders, MBAs and management level appointments. Particularly close association with Arthur D. Little and Shell International, as well as the London, SAID and IESE Business Schools. Consultancy experience includes the design and application of competence based behavioural interviewing, assessment and selection processes and assessment training facilitation.

Experience: 15 years in management consultancy and applied occupational psychology with clients in retail, telecommunications, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, finance, food & beverage, not-for-profit and public sector. Intensive exposure to design and delivery of assessment, selection, development, coaching and team interventions. Multicultural experience in Europe, Far East, Middle East, Africa and North America. Qualified in all key psychometric tools and NLP Master Practitioner.

Experience: Specialises in designing and facilitating innovative coaching and leadership development interventions to help individuals, organisations and virtual teams lead, learn and perform. Over 30 years’ experience in organisation consulting and change management gained in global companies such as DSM, ING, Motorola, BP, Vodafone, Sony Ericsson, Mars Masterfoods and British Airways. Particular focus on building relationship trust, dilemma reconciliation, inspirational change and increasing personal impact.

Education: BA in English & Psychology, Stirling University; MSc in Organisation Consulting and mid-way through PhD at Ashridge, UK. Member of CIPD.

Alison Smith
Alison Smith

Experience: 22 years’ experience in public and private sector procurement , and a qualified coach for over 8 years to senior managers and directors across a wide spectrum of industries. Recommended as Young Enterprise Business Adviser of the Year in 2009. Her enthusiasm for facilitating change, empathy, intuition and passion ensure coaching sessions really make the difference. High emotional intelligence and rapport enable her to deal directly with the person behind the mask. She addresses the underlying blocks to success.

Considerable changes in strategy, focus, role definitions and organisational structures are under way in both private sector companies and across the public sector.
