What's New in Cost Reduction
Future Purchasing takes Cost Reduction to the Transport sector.
Future Purchasing have recently delivered a successful cost reduction programme with the UK division of one of Europe’s leading transportation providers.
Engaged to deliver a significant increase in fiscal savings performance we have enhanced planned savings programmes as well as identified new savings initiatives across all spend categories, including:
- Engineering parts and spares
- OE parts and spares
- New Vehicle acquisition
- Fuel and Lubricants
- Indirect
Following a short diagnostic and data analysis we were able to identify a programme
of savings projects in these categories that increased savings performance by a
multiple of five.
A board sponsored savings efficiency programme was successfully launched and programme
managed by Future Purchasing. Our consultants worked with the client to lead or manage
project delivery to ensure savings were realised and captured as planned.
In addition we worked with internal stakeholders to define savings, engage the many buyers across multiple business units to ensure new deals were implemented and compliance to deals ensured.
During this project we identified a number of longer term strategic initiatives, including a number of outsourcing options, that will boost savings performance over the next 2-3 yrs. We also implemented our e-enabled category management tool - Track 8 as well as advised our client on the optimum procurement organisation for their needs and assisted in the recruitment of new category managers.
