Duncan
Duncan Brock

Experience: 25 years’ consulting and procurement experience working with senior executives and procurement leadership teams in the design and mobilisation of business-wide processes in category management, supplier relationship management, outsourcing and innovation/supplier development, working with Ford, Mars, Black & Decker, NTL, and R&SA. Direct line accountability for over £2bn expenditure in production and indirect categories including professional services, IT and marketing.

Education: BSc in Economics from London School of Economics. Leadership & Strategy - Ashridge & LBS.

Simon
Simon Brown

Experience: 24 years experience in procurement management and consulting, with particular expertise in education design and delivery, strategic sourcing best practice and programme management. Prior to consultancy worked in British Aerospace and British Airways Has over 10 years consulting change management experience dealing with design and delivery of global category management education programmes and the mobilisation and facilitation of cross-functional category teams.

Education: BA (Hons) in Business Studies and MBA from London Business School.

Jon Hughes

Experience: Spent the last 25 years in consulting as a prime originator of the concepts, processes, tools and techniques being used to bring about transformation in procurement. Has advised clients with a third party aggregate expenditure over €300 bn p.a., working with more than 2,000 practitioners, specialising in change management. Executive Chairman of Future Purchasing and a Practice Leader for Future Purchasing Leaders. Recipient of the CIPS Swinbank Award in 2006 for innovation in procurement.

Education: MA in Organisational Psychology from Cambridge University. Member, CIPD, CIPS and IoD.

Mark Webb

Experience: 16 years’ procurement experience in line and consultancy roles up to director level. Last 5 years spent managing global initiatives in manufacturing, banking and telecomms sectors. Experience has ranged from accelerated savings delivery to change programmes impacting organisation structures, process design and skills capability. Working with Henley Management College on the link between procurement as a distinctive business competence, financial benefits delivery and shareholder value.

Education: BSc in Management Science and MSc in Business by Research from Aston University.

Julian Allbut

Experience: 20+ years in procurement in operational and strategic roles for major companies in America and Europe. Spent the last 10 years within change management consulting, particularly for FT 500 companies in the pharmaceuticals, chemicals, banking and retail sectors, including education, capability building, value release and cost management in direct and indirect categories involving strategic sourcing and category management processes.

Les Anderson

Experience: Led design, development and training of SRM process at Job Centre Plus. Deployed measurement process for aggregating data across MOD and implemented SRM process with monopolistic suppliers. Devised and implemented an SRM benefits tracking tool with MOD. Recent projects include work on the ID Card Framework Project and acting as Interim Commercial Director for the Home Office. 20 years of supplier management experience within CEGB, National Power, Railtrack, Vivendi and Eurostar.

Experience: High level proven operational procurement experience with Black & Decker, Lucas Industries, Automotive Products and Rolls-Royce. Designed and implemented cost savings and pioneering supplier performance metrics as part of Rolls-Royce’s “Supplier Charter and New Deal”. Extensive change management consulting experience with clients such as Diageo, BAe Systems, Westinghouse, Xerox and Microsoft. Education: HND, Newcastle Polytechnic. Bob Bannister

Experience: 17 years’ experience in procurement, leadership development and consulting. Combines specialist expertise in procurement, supplier management and outsourcing with business influencing and engagement skills gained in Philips, DuPont, Qualcast, Nokia and Diageo. Extensive work in Eastern Europe, Sweden and Finland. Within the last decade has concentrated on soft skills development, cross-cultural working and executive coaching in conjunction with his expert and accredited coaching network.

Tim Churchill

Experience: 15 years experience with blue-chip organisations within insurance industry covering claims/non-claims categories and professional services; broad experience of dealing with pan-European teams and cross-cultural differences in many European countries. Further category experience in marketing services, fleet, and IT temporary labour. Extensive involvement in global sourcing involving category team coaching and facilitation in the pharmaceuticals sector.

Experience: 10 years experience in the procurement research field, building on a PhD in manufacturing supply strategy. Has worked with Future Purchasing on strengthening the links between competitive strategy and procurement performance measurement. Has developed transformational change processes in supply relationship management. His current research and consulting involves finding out how organisations create value with suppliers, while retaining a competitive imperative in relationships.

Clive Gallery

Experience: Director of the MBA Institute in Paris. Focused on quantifying impact of procurement practices on bottom line growth, cash and risk. Research includes: Valuation, Early Warning Signals in the Supply Base of Financial distress and the optimisation of Cash Flows within business to business supplier relationships. For the last 8 years worked with European blue chips in the FMCG sector. Involved in performance measurement and procurement shareholder contribution in the FMCG sector.

Education: PhD in Creating Shareholder Value through Demergers from Bordeaux University.

Ian MacFarlane

Experience: 25 years blue chip and consulting experience in both public and private sectors. Developed, implemented and trained commercial intelligence processes & toolkit for a new team in DWP tasked with improving strategic decision making. Implemented SRM into the largest supplier of rotorcraft to the MOD and implemented a 360 degree contract performance measurement process throughout the Fixed Wing and Rotary Wing Integrated Project Team.

Emma Nussey

Experience: 17+ years experience focusing on supply chain processes in the marketing communications, airline, manufacturing, finance and telecommunications sectors. Recently worked with Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO with responsibility for commercial relationships including Diageo, Sainsbury’s, BT, Camelot, Aviva, Master Foods, Boots, O2 and Volvo, to develop integrated sourcing strategies, maximise client value from marketing spend and re-engineer the supply chain above and below the line.

Alison Smith

Experience: 22 years’ experience in public and private sector procurement , and a qualified coach for over 8 years to senior managers and directors across a wide spectrum of industries. Recommended as Young Enterprise Business Adviser of the Year in 2009. Her enthusiasm for facilitating change, empathy, intuition and passion ensure coaching sessions really make the difference. High emotional intelligence and rapport enable her to deal directly with the person behind the mask. She addresses the underlying blocks to success.

Experience: 20+ years experience in FMCG procurement and distribution in the retail & wholesale sectors with Somerfield, W H Smith and Booker. Focused on process development of the supply chain, creation of procurement strategies following takeovers and mergers and implementation of change management programmes. Experience of conducting skills appraisals, training and implementation of Category Management procurement processes in resale and manufacturing environments with BP, Cable & Wireless, Royal Mail, Novartis and M.O.D.

Experience: 20+ years procurement experience in finance and supply chain roles, inbound and outbound, managing change and education programmes within international businesses across the engineering, automotive and white goods sectors. Consultancy experience including senior level international engagements in roles covering education, facilitation and interim management with blue chip clients in software, telecommunications, insurance, foods, construction and pharmaceuticals.

Soren Vammen

Experience: 20 years experience with Winterthur’s Reinsurance International Division, Copenhagen Business School and DILF, where he created a centre of excellence in procurement and supply chain education, resourcing and best practice knowledge dissemination. Worked with Carlsberg, Orkla and Danfoss. Chairman of ECPS and member of the executive committee for the International Federation of Procurement and Supply Management (IFPSM).

Experience: 18+ years experience of procurement and international business, including 4 years management and multi-lingual consultancy with blue chip clients. Procurement experience with Nissan in Sunderland and Barcelona, and Reckitt Benckiser across Europe, covering external manufacturing and services expenditure. Practical delivery of category management and supplier improvement. Has developed global strategies across marketing, sales, logistics, sales, R&D and external manufacturing.
